Our Story
Youth-Owned Association
Kalya Peace village is a youth-owned association located at Kosike Village 5 km away from Amudat Lokitonyala Road. It was started by youths from different Karamoja regions and those from Neighboring Countries like Kenya and South Sudan.
It was initiated mainly due to the long stay of youths at home after learning and different activities were stopped by governments because of the COVID-19 pandemic, at that moment the youth were stranded looking for jobs to keep them busy and meeting their basic needs.
How we Started
The youths from different regions started Kalya Peace Village as a youth association with purpose of bringing peace among local communities as well as to build capacity among themselves. The idea turned up positively resulting to them sharing their skills obtained from school like agriculture, building, and masonry, finance and administration.
